AI Assistant Disclosure

What the Wallops Assistant can do, where its answers come from, and its limitations.

Effective: September 11, 2026

How it works today

The feature is presented as an AI assistant, but its current implementation uses rule-based question matching and curated Wallops Watch records. It does not currently send questions to an external generative-AI model. If that changes, this page and the Privacy Policy will be updated before or when the new processing begins.

Approved sources

Answers are limited to indexed launch, event, visitor, and news information with links to approved public sources, primarily NASA pages. “Approved” means selected by Wallops Watch for the topic; it does not mean NASA approves Wallops Watch.

Limitations

Automated answers may be incomplete, outdated, or wrong. They are not official NASA statements and must not be relied upon for safety, travel, operational, legal, or emergency decisions. Verify schedules through the cited source.

Data and safety

Questions are validated and rate limited. Do not enter passwords, private records, contact details, or other sensitive information. The assistant cannot change accounts, roles, favorites, alerts, or published content and will not provide credentials or hidden administrative information.
